Training programs help small businesses in Alexandria area - Echo Press

A variety of training opportunities to assist local entrepreneurs with business startup and growth will be offered in Alexandria this spring.

The training is offered through the Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission (AAEDC) and the Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) Customized Training Center.

• Entrepreneur Boot Camp. This consists of two day-long programs and includes numerous topics. This program is designed for people at any stage in the business startup and planning process. Attendees may participate in one or both sessions:

March 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Entrepreneur Boot Camp: Successfully Planning to Start Your Business.

March 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Entrepreneur Boot Camp: Successfully Starting and Growing Your Small Business.

• Small Business Power Lunches. This consists of highly focused, single subject training opportunities that include lunch.

March 13, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Business Power Lunch: Small Business Financing and Refinancing.

March 27, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Business Power Lunch: Pricing Your Product/Service for Profit.

April 10, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Business Power Lunch: Small Business Human Resources.

April 17, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Business Power Lunch: Customer Service.

May 1, 10 a.m. to noon – Business Power Lunch: Overcoming Generational Challenges in the Workforce.

These trainings are an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning about what it takes to start a small business, entrepreneurs in the process of starting a business, and small business owners looking for direction on how to successfully grow their organizations, according to the AAEDC and ATCC.
