Research and Markets: Mobile Marketing Strategies and Emerging Opportunities in the BRIC Countries

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/djtj8k/mobile_marketing_s) has announced the addition of the "Mobile Marketing Strategies and Emerging Opportunities in the BRIC Countries" report to their offering.

Across the four emerging BRIC countries, high mobile penetration has generated opportunities for mobile marketing initiatives. These initiatives have become popular among businesses as they have a broad reach, the ability to monitor responses, and can offer location-based promotions. As such, companies across a variety of industries have started developing mobile marketing strategies with increasing marketing budget allocations.

The aim of mobile marketing varies across different industries, although the main focus is to develop promotions that target specific consumer groups and launch new service offerings. Mobile marketing in the BRIC countries currently takes the form of mass market campaigns that target customers through bulk messages.

However, this is expected to change as marketers start utilizing location-based services, which will be driven by the increased penetration of smartphones and improved mobile infrastructure to enable accurate and high-bandwidth services. As such, BRICdata expects mobile marketing campaigns will become more personalized through using location-based promotional strategies.

Opportunities Abound in CEE Countries - CEPA's Message at EBACE

The newly appointed Board of the three-year old CEPA (Central Europe Private Aviation) will be in Geneva this week, meeting with their members and aiming to raise awareness internationally of viable investment opportunities available in business aviation in such countries as Poland and the Czech Republic.

“The CEE region has not been so affected by the financial turbulence in Europe this year and we have a reason to smile at this year’s EBACE,” said CEPA Founder Dagmar Grossmann.  “We have a number of international events coming up in the region, not least the UEFA European Cup, which will inevitably see more western business aviation charter companies flying in - to Poland and the Ukraine.”  CEPA Chairman Brendan Lodge added: “This year’s EBACE is important for our new Board to talk about the region and the high international standards our members’ companies are consistently setting, as well as hearing about the trends affecting operators in Europe.  Attending this premier business aviation gathering is very valuable as we look to enrich our third annual networking conference toward the end of the year.”

CEPA Expo scheduled for November 29-30

Dates have now been confirmed for CEPA Expo 2012 (www.cepa.expo), the leading business aviation networking and conference event for Central and Eastern Europe.  The event will start from midday on 29th November through to 30th November at the Prague Congress Centre.  Last year’s event, attended by over 120 delegates, highlighted the wishes of CEE operators to compete on an equal playing field; the reticence among banks to finance business aircraft and the many challenges they share with their western counterparts – including ETS, slot allocation rules and obtaining access to European airports.

“EBACE, the premier international business aviation event in Europe, is a good opportunity to meet with lenders and financiers – to educate about them about the opportunities in our region, but also operators and charter providers - those who conduct business in Eastern and Western Europe.  Our aim is to explore best practices and identify what these two groups of operators can learn from each other,” Brendan Lodge added.

CEPA is a voluntary, non-governmental and non-profit members association which co-ordinates the interests of executive aviation manufacturers, operators, airports, service providers, training establishments, fixed wing and rotary brokers to improve standards and best business practice in the region. Supporting services including financial, legal, insurance and publishing companies are also welcomed. The Association's primary goal is to represent its members' interests to support the growth of private aviation in the Czech Republic and abroad. For the future CEPA plans to develop an educational arm which will be responsible for providing information and data about the current climate in business aviation in Central Europe.

Research and Markets: Mobile Money Opportunities in the BRIC Countries

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/aacb4ca2/mobile_money_oppor) has announced the addition of the "Mobile Money Opportunities in the BRIC Countries" report to their offering.

A large unbanked population supported by a developed mobile and banking system will be the fundamental driver for the growth of mobile-based financial services in Brazil. In Brazil the majority of mobile money initiatives are led by banks. The need to gain access to the potential market through the unbanked population is driving strategic business alliances between banks and mobile operators.

In Russia operators are placing a strong emphasis on making contactless mobile payment service available to users using the NFC standard, with NFC-enabled mobile payment trails initiated for making retail payments or on public transport. All three leading mobile operators in Russia, Megafon, MTS and Vimpelcom, collaborated to provide users with common access to each other's mobile payment services.

In India the growth of mobile money services increased as regulatory changes were implemented. Brought into effect by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the new regulations increased the per-day mobile money transfer limit to INR50,000 (US$1000) from the existing limit of INR5,000 (US$100). The rapidly growing mobile money market in India is driving the established business correspondents (BCs) to directly offer mobile payment services.

China is an upcoming destination for mobile money services owing to its large mobile subscriber base and increasing government support. China's UnionPay, a card network operator in China, in collaboration with China's leading banks, wireless operators and handset manufacturers, is forming a mobile payment industry alliance. This alliance is expected to enhance mobile payment coordination across industries by providing a single open mobile payment platform to users.

Veep advises West African countries to utilise energy opportunities - GhanaHomePage

General News of Wednesday, 21 March 2012

Source: GNA

Vice President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday appealed to West African countries to make judicious use of all power generating activities that could help sustain their industrial pursuit.

He said good management of oil and gas for both domestic and commercial utilisation could also encourage investors to establish industries and other commercial institutions.

Vice President Mahama said it is difficult for West Africa to step up production levels to create jobs and alleviate poverty without sufficient energy to sustain the business entities.

He made the appeal when he launched a two-day West African Gas Stakeholders Forum in Accra.

The Forum being attended by participants from Togo, Nigeria, Benin, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast among other countries would discuss energy needs, existing and projected gas requirement, domestic and gas market and policy development in the West African Sub-Region.

It was organised by the World Bank, West African Gas Pipe-line Company in collaboration with ECOWAS, West African Gas Pipeline Authority and the Volta River Authority.

Vice President Mahama said although the West African Pipe line Gas Company had been erratic and disappointing of late, there was the need to increase the output to ensure regular supply to the sub-region for both domestic and industrialisation consumption.

He said Ghana for the past month had to resort to power rationing due to power shortage at the Asogli Gas Plant leaving a deficit of 200,000 megawatts and gave the assurance that government would put up measures that would curb the perennial power shortages.

Vice President Mahama called on the participants to outline their challenges and create a bigger platform to strategise to solve such challenges in subsequent meetings.

Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, a Deputy Minister of Energy said government would step up oil revenue management, investment framework, security, natural gas utilisation and commercialisation to become a net exporter of oil and gas and a major player in the global petroleum industry.

He said the completion of the Bui Hydro-Electricity Project would extend electricity and other sources of energy to 70 per cent of Ghanaians, particularly in the rural areas.

Mr Buah said government would also support sustained regeneration of woody biomass resources, promote the establishment of woodlots for charcoal and promote the production and use of improved and efficient biomass utilisation technologies as part of measures to sustain the supply of wood fuels policy direction.**

The trade growth and economic growth rankings show that frontier economies emerging out of poverty or recovering from wars could experience astronomical rates of growth. Although these countries usually lack stability, they potentially offer daring individuals attractive international business opportunities.

The ease of doing business index counts Iceland and Ireland, two of the hardest hit countries during the global financial crisis, among its top 10.

This shows that economic freedom and liberalization, if not managed well, could fuel bubbles and create serious consequences later on. Investing in these countries for the long-term, therefore, could prove disastrous.

Social Media Marketing Strategies and Emerging Opportunities in BRIC Countries

NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Reportlinker.com announces that a new market research report is available in its catalogue:

Social Media Marketing Strategies and Emerging Opportunities in BRIC Countries

http://www.reportlinker.com/p0765669/Social-Media-Marketing-Strategies-and-Emerging-Opportunities-in-BRIC-Countries.html#utm_source=prnewswire&utm_medium=pr&utm_campaign=Internet_Business

Synopsis

The report provides top-level market analysis, information and insights, including:• In-depth analysis of social media marketing strategies in the four BRIC countries: Brazil, Russia, India and China• A comprehensive understanding of country-specific market trends, drivers, opportunities and challenges across key industries • Detailed social networking user market sizing for each BRIC country for a period of 10 years (2007–2016) along with expansion strategies

Executive Summary

Across the four BRIC countries (Brazil, India, Russia and China), social media penetration has reached a reasonable level for encouraging strong marketing initiatives. Given the global reach and interactive capabilities of social media, companies across key industries have started developing a social media marketing strategy with increased marketing budget allocations. The key influencers include direct access to a large user base of potential consumers, and insights into key changing trends and the thought processes behind buying decisions. Although it varies across industries, social media marketing's broad focus is on developing products targeted at specific consumer groups, launching new product offerings and monitoring brand image sentiments.

Although the growth of social media marketing in the BRIC countries is promising, there are obvious challenges in reaching diverse customer groups from this marketing channel due to fragmented industries, low literacy rates and the relatively underdeveloped mobile infrastructure. BRICdata expects the adoption of social media marketing in the BRIC countries to be gradual and to increase alongside the growing popularity of social media networks.

ScopeThis report provides an extensive analysis of social media marketing strategies used in the four BRIC nations – Brazil, Russia, India and China.

• The report provides a detailed understanding of how social media platforms are being used to identify new markets, launch products, gather customer feedback and monitor brand performance across five key consumer focused industries: Healthcare, BFSI, Travel and Tourism, FMCG and Entertainment.

• The report provides insights into the evolving social media market sizes for each country over a 10 year period, 2007–2016, along with market trends, growth drivers, opportunities and challenges.

• It also provides insights into future social media marketing strategies adopted by players in each industry to strengthen market position.

Reasons To Buy• Gain in-depth insight into the social media marketing strategies used in each of the BRIC countries

• Understand the various market dynamics within the BRIC countries by key industry and use the knowledge to capitalize on the potential of these high-growth markets

• Take informed decisions and formulate effective technical and marketing strategies based on the report's detailed market insights on social media marketing strategies

• Identify the key specific growth segments within the social media marketing sector in each of the BRIC countries

• Understand the growth strategies adopted by key companies and social networking sites

Key Highlights• Social media marketing in the BRIC countries is still in its early stage of development, and while companies are keen to redesign strategies to benefit from this platform, tools and knowledge on measuring returns on investment remain unclear. However, BRICdata expects this will change significantly during the forecast period, following wider social media marketing participation from companies.

• Social media in Brazil is increasingly used by companies as a strategic marketing tool. The main use of social networks by companies in Brazil is for advertising their products and services, followed by brand monitoring and identifying sales opportunities. Companies are now evaluating their marketing budgets and BRICdata expects there will be an increased budget allocation for social media marketing during the forecast period (2012–2016).

• Spamming on social networks and linguistic barriers for non-Russian brands are the key challenges in a digital marketing campaign. It is vital for marketers to understand the internet penetration and income groups of their end users, as the economy and consumer behavior can differ depending on the region. Social gaming is expected to register impressive growth over the forecast period, to become one of the most attractive areas for social media marketing activities.

• The rapid growth in social media marketing is helping companies win business in India. According to estimates in 2010, over 50% of the companies were successful in broadening their customer base through digital media campaigns. BRICdata expects the amount of spending on social media marketing will increase as a percentage of overall sales and marketing expenditure during the forecast period.

• The popularity of mobile internet increases the value proposition for marketing initiatives, which can impact China's rural market and low-income groups. With the country's increasing mobile penetration, more marketing budgets will be allocated for social media as mobile phone ads become more interactive and engaging. The launch of 3G and upcoming 4G services will further fuel the growth of social media marketing in the country.

Executive Summary

The impending 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympics Games that will be hosted by Brazil are expected to create a huge amount of business for the country's hospitality, retail and leisure industries. These factors are expected to contribute to the growth of the lighting products market in the forecast period, despite the fact that the market was largely unfruitful during the review period due to the global financial crisis and strict government regulations.

The Russian government has been encouraging energy conservation during the review period. The State Duma passed several laws in 2009 to regulate the use of lighting products in order to ensure that the country's overall energy conservation improves. The government has also made it mandatory for all government offices to replace incandescent bulbs with other energy-conserving lighting products such as CFLs.

The increasing number of real estate activities and rapid urbanization that is taking place in India is expected to generate a higher demand for lighting products in the country. Also, the Indian government has initiated several schemes to cut carbon emissions in the country. For instance, the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) introduced the Belaku Scheme, under which CFLs will be offered to consumers at subsidized prices.

China has the largest lighting products market out of the BRIC countries, due to its massive internal demand and huge lighting products export capabilities. In China, the government has announced a three-step process to phase out the use of energy inefficient incandescent bulbs. The National Development and Reform Commission are developing measures to encourage the promotion of LED illumination, based on the Green Lighting Policy of the Ministry of Finance. The country's Twelfth Five-Year Plan is being drafted and will include the development of LED lamps, with estimates that LED sales will quadruple during the forecast period.
