Story of Rangam Consultants, Inc.

The journey of Rangam started in 1995 by two young technocrats with innovation and quality services in mind after getting corporate experience with various fortune 500 companies, such as, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Johnson & Johnson, AT&T, Lucent, Telcordia, McKinsey, and Verizon. The goal was to serve information to technology industries with better cost-effective enterprise technological solutions and provide highly skilled resources for technology projects. In the beginning of the year Rangam was funded by consulting revenue from the founders of the development and marketing of the products developed by Rangam. Between 1997-2001, the IT industry was flourished by e-commerce boom, and Rangam developed B2B and B2C portals. With the Dot-com bubble burst in 2001-2002, Rangam would have almost lost the hope of success with the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars of investment in developed technology. Since in the field of Information Technology when the technology changes rapidly, in 2002 Rangam’s multi-million dollar intellectual property would be worth nothing.

However, with lot of failures and some successes, Rangam has grown to be a well-respected size staffing company with a sister innovative technology company WebTeam Corporation in the last 17 years. .In 2005, Rangam started its offshore subsidiary, Rangam InfoTech Pvt. Ltd is now serving Rangam with staff of over 65 highly professionals for its back office support and management. After the successful relationship with Life Science Company, Rangam added some large Telecom, Insurance, Energy sector client and more. In last 10 years, Rangam has successfully established a track record with all its client is as a top five performing vendor in almost all quarters. The success of Rangam is due to its innovative approach to manage the staffing life cycle process utilizing mobile technology, social network and web based recruiting model.

In the bad credit market, Rangam has managed almost 100% organic growth rate in last three years. Along with this growth, Rangam has participated and funded some of the most appreciated efforts in the area of Autism intervention with its sister company WebTeam Corporation. Recently in the Autism Awareness Month of April, 2012, Rangam and WebTeam Corporation have also received commendations and proclamations from the Governor Chris Christie and the Mayor of Franklin Township, Mr. Levine for their grand work done to serve the Autism Community. On Thursday, May 17, 2012 Shanesh COLORS program was featured in the Courier News emphasizing on its uniqueness and effectiveness and contribution to our society. Our Autism intervention app downloads has exceeded 50,000 downloads in last 6 months. We have successfully launched over 40 different apps in Google Play and iTunes for Autism intervention. During the month of April we had total over 20,000 plays of our apps where individuals from all over the world have learned something from using our apps.

Councillors adopted the Hume Economic Development Strategy 2030 and 2012-2013 Action Plan at a council meeting two weeks ago.

The strategies aim to support economic resilience and guide development of industrial activity to provide jobs.

The strategic goals set out in the plan include:

The council has prioritised allowing a quick roll-out of the NBN in Tullamarine from August to provide online business opportunities, creating an Investment Action Framework to promote business in Hume and establishing a Hume jobs and skills taskforce.

Cr Adem Atmaca said the report would strengthen the ability to lead economic development in Hume.

The plan outlines Hume’s plans to improve freight and transport operations, increase the number of businesses and people taking part in the council’s Business Efficiency Network and increase the number of Hume residents employed locally.

Cr Atmaca said while job losses had hit Hume hard in recent years, the takeover of biscuit maker Unibic by a consortium was a positive sign.

The revival of the Fiji-PNG Business Council to revitalise trade opportunities between Fiji and Papua New Guinea is significant and timely.

The Attorney-General and Minister for Industry and Trade, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said there are a number of exciting economic projections and opportunities that exist in both countries which can synergize and both the countries can benefit.

Fiji-PNG Business Council, which was formed in 2005, had been inactive for the last eight years.

He said while PNG is famous for its mineral deposits and mineral resources, Fiji has a very well developed financial sector which can go together.

Sayed-Khaiyum said there are a number of trade agreements in place for Melanesian countries which PNG and Fiji can utilise to their advantage

He also acknowledged a major Papua New Guinea company, Bank of the South Pacific for taking a significant step to invest in Fiji.

Similarly, the Grand Pacific Hotel project is due for completion by the end of the third quarter of 2013 and again Fiji have the Papua New Guinean Superannuation Fund and one of the other development companies that are involved with that.

Expressing similar opinions, PNG’s High Commissioner to Fiji Peter Eafeare said the business council will serve as a conduit in which the untapped business and investment opportunities can be explored, maximised and promoted.

New business council offers support, connections, resources - Hudson Reporter

Female Hoboken entrepreneurs and business leaders have found opportunities to connect with their like-minded peers with the emergence of the Women in Business Council, launched last year as part of the Hoboken Chamber of Commerce. Since then, the burgeoning group has played host to a speakers’ series and a number of events that bring women in business together to network.

Recognizing influential business leaders

“There are a lot of women in business in town,” said Elizabeth Barry, of Elizabeth Barry & Associates, a PR and marketing firm. As a founding member, she has been instrumental in providing a platform that promotes the work of the members in the council.

She said the idea originated with Michael Novak, president of the Hoboken Chamber, as a way to grow women’s businesses, recognize their influence within the community, and support women through advocacy, empowerment, and networking.

_____________

“The women are so grateful that they have this place to come to meet other women business leaders.” – Elizabeth Barry

____________

The group had its first meeting in April 2011.

“Then we started with a barbecue at the Hoboken Business Center,” said Barry. “We had a crowd of over 100 attendees.” The council is currently comprised of 25 members from different fields including medicine, real estate, public relations, communications, design, banking, and politics among others.

The council launched an Influential Women in Business Speaker Series, a quarterly event that featured Alice Gast last September. She was the first female president of Lehigh University.

The next series event will take place in March. The first mixer was held this month.

Providing a support system

“There are certain things that bring us together more as a community,” said Barry. The council has fostered a supportive and empowering environment that encourages synergy and synchronicity amongst women business leaders.

“It breaks down walls and barriers,” said Barry. “The women that have joined are so grateful that they have this place to come to meet other women business leaders.” Barry said the council has led to unique connections driven by the desire to support rather than compete.

“We all go through the same business obstacles,” said Barry. She said that the Women in Business Council provides opportunities for female business leaders to learn from one another and share advice and ideas.

“There have been a lot of unique relationships that have come together,” added Barry. She said women have made discoveries in regard to the resources available within the group.

Featuring members

“I understand the value of blogging and branding and that is what we do for a living,” said Barry. For her, building a blog was “old hat,” and she saw it as a way to reach more women while promoting the work of the individual members. She created the online presence for the group.

“We get to learn about the personal characteristics of each of the members in a different way, [and] at the next meeting we know each other a little bit more,” said Barry. “Each one of the members can use that [blog] link as press and PR for themselves [and] that can take the chamber to an all-new place.”

Nutritionist Inna Topiler was featured on the blog in January. By reading her profile, one learns a number of details from her business ethics to her favorite Hoboken restaurant. The profile says she values compassion and understanding as traits that establish client trust, and has conquered the pitfalls of multitasking and trying to take on too much.

On the site, Barry provides guidance specific to marketing businesses in Hoboken while also emphasizing the importance of branding integrity. Others featured have included Michelle Albrizio, director of communications at Atlantic Environmental Solutions, real estate agent Norma DeRuggierio, and Dr. Kathia Roberts.

Future of growth

“We are definitely looking forward to educating new women and new members about what it is that we are doing and what it is that we do,” said Barry.

She anticipates the Women in Business council will continue to grow and inspire. The group has a Facebook fan page, regular meetings, and ongoing events.
