“Our teams are evaluating all potential prospects, legislative elements and business connectivity to increase our presence in the region’s emerging markets,” said Mr Amit Sinha Roy, Vice-President, Strategy & Marketing for Global Enterprise Solutions Business, Tata Communications.

The company has established presence in major Asian cities from Karachi to Auckland, and is now looking at emerging markets in China, Indonesia, Thailand, The Philippines and Vietnam, Mr Roy told PTI at the ongoing Communications Asia 2012 exhibition here.

Tata Global Network cable at present connects businesses operating out of Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

“But there is a tremendous scope of expanding footprint in China,” Mr Roy said, underlining the huge investments being made in China-based businesses and manufacturing sectors.

China offers most opportunities for business growth, according to a recent independent study on emerging markets, which surveyed 1,600 global business leaders, Tata Comm said in a release.

In Vietnam, Tata Communications aims to increase its global connectivity with other business cities, having already linked up Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tao.

The Singapore-based Tata Communications will also increase its link beyond the present connectivity with businesses based in Jakarta and Bangkok.

This expansion would provide further double-digit growth for Tata Comm’s Global Enterprise Solution Business, which has been recording double-digit annual growth in recent years.

Mr Roy said Tata Comm would continue to pursue similar business growth strategy across its global network, and going forward it sees a similar business development focus on Africa.

The company had earlier this month launched global low latency network to connect major financial capitals in Asia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The low latency network offers a multi-point Ethernet platform to the financial services sector and other global industries, accelerating global high frequency trading.

Tata Comm also has a multi-year technology service and marketing agreement with Formula One Management.

“Our teams are ready for respective race sites to cover the F1 races and provide services for web hosting and content delivery network,” he said.
