These positions will reside in Houston for the duration of the feasibility stage where then it will be decided to which location each position will be delegated.  

This position is located in Houston, TX and relocation to this area will be required. Relocation assistance is available for individuals who will require it.

JOB OPPORTUNITY:

New Business Development has multiple openings for the position of a Business Analyst. We are now seeking qualified candidates for the selection process.  

Job Responsibilities:

?         Support the Business Development Manager with coordination and interface management of business track activities in execution of the project and FEED studies to ensure delivery of agreed deliverables within scheduled time frames.

?         Manage planning, budgeting and cost control and risk identification activities for the business track.

?         Contribute to development of the project's value proposition, business and operating model for the U.S. to meet Sasol's business objectives.

?         Perform relevant business analyses work as required (e.g. industry and competitor analyses, value chain analyses, etc)

?         Lead the development of business track schedule that is aligned with the rest of the project and remain responsible for the regular follow-up progress and preparation of progress reports.

?         Coordinate interfaces with business track areas

?         Support the Business Development Manager with compiling of business plan and  other required documentation for presentation to relevant governance bodies in Sasol and externally

?         Maintain business information and intelligence systems in support of NBD information needs.


Experience/Education Requirements:

Must

?  BS in a relevant Engineering or Science Degree

?  Business degree in Finance or Accounting will be an added advantage

?  Knowledge of global fuels and chemicals markets

?  Self starter with initiative and the ability to work independently

?  Ability to work under pressure

?  Prioritizing and control of workload

?  Good organizational skills

?  Subscribe to Sasol Values

?  Highly computer literate

?  Analytical skills


Preferred

?  Good business acumen

?  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

?  High level of emotional intelligence

?  Background on project management

?  Some financial background

ESPN Analyst to Speak at Purdue - Inside Indiana Business

ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith will give the keynote talk April 13 for the third annual Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program Leadership Conference at Purdue University.

Smith will speak on "The Road to Great Leadership" at 7 p.m. in Mackey Arena. The talk is open to the public. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online at http://www.societyofminoritymanagers.org/ or starting Monday (April 9) in the Krannert Drawing Room. Any tickets still available will be sold at the door.

Smith is a veteran sports journalist whose career has allowed him to get to know leaders up close. He'll discuss goal-setting, motivation, decision-making and inspiration. He also will apply insights into sports to society at large, drawing parallels to such issues as politics and race relations in America.

The conference will continue April 14 with two panel discussions on "Building Your Legacy."

The first panel will discuss "Going Global: Understanding the Global Economy." Panelists will be Tarrus Richardson, CEO of IMB Development Corp.; Linda Clement-Holmes, senior vice president and chief diversity officer for Proctor & Gamble; and John Bolden, Caterpillar human resources director.

The second panel will focus on "Management Leadership for Tomorrow." Panelists will be Rochelle Dorn-Hayes, internal control with Ford Motor Co.; Lillian Hunt, General Electric vice president; and Ted McElroy, SC Johnson finance manager.

The panels will run from 2 to 5:30 p.m. in Krannert Auditorium. Tickets are $5. A ticket to the Smith speech also will gain admittance to the panel discussions.

Bell founded the Business Opportunity Program at Krannert and was its director for 37 years until his retirement in 2006. The program is designed to create a more diverse student body and launch business and community leaders. Although Bell died in 2009, his legacy continues through hundreds of alumni throughout the world.

Business Insider is looking for a self-driven revenue analyst for a new role in the business development department. This person will work with third-party advertising partners, technology providers, and internal ad operations to develop a smart approach to maximizing ad revenue. He or she will work across all Business Insider channels including the web site, email, video, and mobile.

The role involves forecasting available inventory, monitoring partner performance, and proactively optimizing available ad opportunities. The right candidate will understand the nuts and bolts of current yield optimization operations and be up-to-date on emerging technology and models. Responsibilities include:

Extensive testing and refinement to maximize revenueAnalyze the effectiveness of new yield optimization projectsConduct competitive and industry researchStrong analytic and interpretive skillsFamiliarity with ad-serving technologiesFamiliarity with A/B testing and experiment designFirm grasp of key ad metrics Strong communication and presentation skillsSelf-starter curiosity and a drive toward efficiencyAbility to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
