The University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration are joining forces to provide a free informational seminar for community members interested in starting or expanding a small business.
SBA - Access to Capital and 504 will take place on July 10.
Lender relations specialist Annie Hudspeth of the U.S. Small Business Administration and David Moreno, business development officer from Capital Certified Development Co., will lead the educational business seminar about how to access capital to start or grow small businesses through the many SBA loan guaranty programs available.
Participants also will learn about the benefits of the CDC/504 loan program, a long-term financing tool for economic development within a community. It provides small businesses requiring "brick-and-mortar" financing to acquire major fixed assets.
During the seminar, participants will also be able to meet with resource experts about financing and get information about how to manage a successful small business.
Hudspeth works for the San Antonio district office of the SBA and has extensive experience counseling on financing options for small businesses. She has worked in processing, servicing and liquidation of SBA loans. She is assigned to the lender relations division, where she assists lenders with eligibility, servicing and loan liquidation questions, as well as marketing SBA products and services to the public in the 55-county district.
