New placements for premium advertising and Sponsored Stories have been confirmed. They will now be available on the Facebook log-out Page and the mobile News Feed.
Sponsored Stories are used to improve the visibility of stories related to a business in order to share their fans' activities online. Sponsored Stories for mobile applications is currently only available in the US, but will soon be launched in other countries.
Meanwhile, Offers is a free scheme that businesses can use to share discounts or promotions to their networks. They can promote them directly from a Facebook page, or can be sent out via a News Feed or through Sponsored Stories. Users can then claim Offers by email or on a mobile device.
Offers will only be available to US users at first, and will then be rolled out to other countries over the next few weeks.
Advertisements will also be shown when a user logs out of Facebook. The campaign will allow businesses to try to engage people after they have completed a Facebook session. This service will be available in the US, UK, Canada, Brazil and Australia before being rolled out elsewhere.
The announcements were made at Facebook Marketing Conference (FMC) in New York City earlier today (February 29).
Facebook also launched new Timeline profiles for businesses today.
