Martinez hosts business seminar

The College of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host a business seminar at 8:30 a.m. in the Community Room at Kleberg Bank, 100 E. Kleberg Ave., Kingsville.

Tony Martinez, owner of TheCrushGirls.com, will talk about "Creating and Promoting a Facebook Page for Your Business."

SBA explains loans at Ingleside meets

The U.S. Small Business Administration will be available for startup or existing small businesses in Ingleside to explain SBA's loan programs, eligibility, and free technical assistance from SCORE Corpus Christi and Del Mar College's Small Business Development Center.

Luncheon covers changing workforce

The Regional P-16 Council, Coastal Bend Partners for College and Career Readiness, is hosting a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center.

Sylvia Acevedo, presidential commissioner for the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics will discuss "Changing Demographics: What it Means to the Workforce." Cost: $50.

The U.S. Small Business Administration will conduct a free seminar from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the agency office, 3649 Leopard St., Suite 411, to explain the SBA Government Contracting Opportunities and Certification Programs to help position a small business for contracting opportunities throughout the federal government.

SBA conducts lender networking fair

The U.S. Small Business Administration in participation with the Alice Chamber of Commerce, SCORE Corpus Christi and Del Mar College's Small Business Development Center will conduct a lender networking fair from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Alice VFW Hall, 2300 N. Conservation funds deadline is March 1

March 1 is the deadline for agricultural landowners to apply for conservation funding under the Gulf of Mexico Initiative. t

The annual Y Women In Careers Awards Banquet is at 6 p.m. March 1 at the YWCA, 4601 Corona Drive.

Land conservation sign-up available

Acting Undersecretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services Michael Scuse announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture will conduct a four-week Conservation Reserve Program general sign-up, beginning March 12 and ending April 6.

CRP is a voluntary program available to agricultural producers to help them use environmentally sensitive land for conservation benefits.

Conservation group hosts banquet

The Coastal Conservation Association 34th annual banquet will be held March 29 at the American Bank Center.
