Bloomberg: U.S. Air Force May Buy Up To 18,000 Apple IPad 2s - RTT News

(RTTNews) - The U.S. Air Force may purchase up to 18,000 Apple IPad 2s in order to reduce the load of flight crews, Bloomberg reported, citing a notice posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website.

The Air Mobility Command of the service intends to place a request for proposals to buy 63 to 18,000 iPad 2 brand name or equal devices to replace the high-weighing manuals and navigation charts carried by pilots and navigators.

Air Mobility Command provides transport and refueling services to the U.S. military.
